UdderCheck

Mastitis Test

Bovine Milk

UdderCheck is an effective tool to monitor udder health. It measures lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), an enzyme present in milk when cells are damaged from udder infection. LDH is correlated to somatic cell count (SCC) and is not as easily affected by conditions such as stress, nutrition, and parity. LDH levels often rise earlier than SCC, making it an excellent marker for early detection of mastitis. In just two minutes, this milk dipstick test provides semi-quantitative results that are compared to a color chart.

Discontinued Product

UdderCheck is a dipstick mastitis test that measures lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in fresh milk samples. Each vial contains 50 test strips.

  • Rapid two-minute test for LDH in milk (severe infections will cause a color change within a minute).
  • Stable for 24 months at 2°C–25°C (36°F–77°F) in portable, easy-to-open desiccant vials.
  • Cow-side test: users simply squirt right onto the test strip to check individual quarters, or dip the test strip into composite samples taken cow-side or in-line.

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme present in milk when cells are damaged during an udder infection. LDH is correlated to SCC, but is not as easily affected by other conditions such as stress, nutrition, parity, or stage of lactation. LDH levels often rise earlier than somatic cell counts, making it an excellent marker for early detection of udder infections.
