PortaCheck is a wholly-owned division of PortaScience Inc. PortaScience
was founded in 1999 to develop portable and easy-to-use tests for the
healthcare, veterinary, and consumer markets. Since then, it has enjoyed
tremendous success in developing new technologies and products. Some of
the highlights are listed below.
PortaScience
- Awarded 11 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants.
- Granted 3 United States patents, with several others pending.
- Commercialized, licensed out, and contract developed over eight
products.
- Located in a new 5,000 square foot facility with fully equipped
lab and dry room.

- Named 2006 New Jersey Member Company of the Year by the World Trade
Center of Greater Philadelphia.
- National 2006 Tibbetts Award for the National Small Business
Technology Council
PortaCheck
- Formed in 2004 as a division of PortaScience to market products
to the dairy industry.
- Its first product, the PortaSCC® milk test was launched at the
World Dairy Expo in October, 2004, leading to national recognition
for the parent company.
- This product is now marketed in 60 countries.
- Other products for the dairy market are under development.
